มหาวิทยาลัยสยาม เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชน 1 ใน 5 แห่งแรกของประเทศไทย ก่อตั้งในปี พ.ศ. 2508 ปัจจุบัน มหาวิทยาลัยสยามเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชนที่ได้รับการรับรองวิทยฐานะสถาบันให้จัดการเรียนการสอนได้ในทุกระดับ คือ ระดับปริญญาตรี ปริญญาโท และปริญญาเอก ภายใต้สังกัดของสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการอุดมศึกษากระทรวงศึกษาธิการ มีหลักสูตรต่างๆ แบ่งออกเป็น 13 คณะ คือ คณะบริหารธุรกิจ คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ คณะนิติศาสตร์ คณะศิลปศาสตร์ คณะนิเทศศาสตร์ คณะวิทยาศาสตร์ คณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ คณะเภสัชศาสตร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ คณะสาธารณสุขศาสตร์ วิทยาลัยศิลปะการแสดง วิทยาลัยนานาชาติ และบัณฑิตวิทยาลัย ได้ผลิตผู้สำเร็จการศึกษาไปแล้วกว่า 80,000 คน
